One of the greatest albums ever written, Dark Side of the Moon, By Pink Floyd, became my focus on my seven paintings. Assigned to expand our knowledge of the arts through studying styles from different contemporary painters. Instead of creating separate works I wanted to connect the paintings together as one while keeping with different styles. With each painting having an arch I was able to connect the works from textured gestural to naturally smooth gradation to the next work being a new song.

Something that has drove me as an artist is viewing Caravaggio’s “Calling of St. Mathew”. I wanted to modernize the idea of taking from a well-known writing, like he did the bible. The lyrics from Pink Floyd’s work, which were taken literally and metaphorically is, applied it to my life experiences. My hope is the viewers can see my side of the moon.
